Complete feed for all breeds & ages – honest, transparent, without tricks
The medium chicken menu was specially developed for dogs with sensitive digestion. With 32% real chicken meal of food quality and from free-range farming, it provides the highest nutrient density – openly declared, without hidden ingredients.
What is chicken meal – and why is it the best choice in dry food?
Our chicken meal is made exclusively from fresh chicken muscle meat and high-quality offal such as heart, lungs, and liver – all of food quality and from free-range farming. These meat components are gently dried at low temperatures and then finely ground. The water is completely extracted – what remains is a highly concentrated meat meal with a residual moisture content of only approx. 8–10%.
It is important to understand: In dry food, only the dry matter counts – i.e., what actually goes into the kibble after processing. And this is precisely where the crucial difference lies:
-
32% chicken meal = 32% real, dried meat from muscle meat, heart, lungs, and liver – directly in the finished kibble, based on dry matter
-
40% fresh meat = consists of 70–80% water. After drying, only approx. 8–10% actual meat content remains in the kibble – the rest has simply evaporated
Many manufacturers refer to “protein" in this context – but beware: meat is not the same as protein. Terms such as “poultry protein", “beef protein", or “duck protein" sound higher quality than they are. These usually conceal chemically enhanced ingredients from heads, feathers, claws, and other slaughterhouse waste – not real meat. We at Kallisbest use the word “protein" exclusively in the legally required analytical component declaration – nowhere else.
What is on our packaging is what is in the kibble. Guaranteed.

How do you recognize good dog food?
-
"Animal by-products" – these are slaughterhouse waste such as feathers, hooves, and beaks. Not real meat.
-
"Poultry", "Beef" or "Duck" without the word "Meat" or "Meat meal" – means skin, bones, feathers and heads, but no muscle meat.
-
"Poultry protein", "Beef protein", "Duck protein" or similar – these hide chemically enhanced ingredients from heads, feathers, claws and other slaughterhouse waste. No real meat nutritional value.
-
"Cellulose" – is a filler made from wood shavings or paper. It has no place in dog food.
-
Closed declaration – the manufacturer does not provide exact percentages. You don't know what's really inside.
-
The "Fresh meat" trick – 40% fresh meat contains 70–80% water. After drying, only an actual meat content of approx. 8–10% remains from 40% declared fresh meat in the finished kibble.
At Kallisbest, you see every single ingredient with exact percentages – based on dry matter. No trick. No euphemisms. Only real meat from muscles and offal – for your darling.
