What is meat meal – and why is it the best choice in dry food?

Our meat meal is made exclusively from fresh muscle meat and high-quality offal such as heart, lungs, and liver – all of human-grade quality from free-range animals – gently dried and finely ground. What remains is a highly concentrated meat meal with only approx. 8–10% residual moisture.

• To produce 1 kg of meat meal, approx. 4–5 kg of fresh raw meat are needed – highly concentrated, nutrient-rich, without water content
• 40% fresh meat = consists of 70–80% water. After drying, only approx. 8–10% actual meat content remains

Application

Moisten coat, apply a small amount of shampoo to the wet coat and massage in a circular motion. Leave on briefly, then rinse thoroughly. Avoid contact with eyes.

💡 The easiest way – straight from the can into the horn!
Simply take a can of Kallisbest Deer & Potato with Vegetables – meat, potato, and vegetables are already perfectly combined. Simply fill directly into the horn, put it in the oven – done! Saves time and serves the purpose perfectly. Of course, this also works with other types as desired!

Ingredients (example) – choose a Kallisbest can as a base:

• 🐄 Kallisbest Beef pure – classic, protein-rich, without additives – mix in a side dish (potato/rice/vegetables) separately
• 🦌 Kallisbest Deer & Potato with Vegetables – ⭐ Tip: straight from the can into the horn – everything is already included!
• 🐔 Kallisbest Chicken & Vegetables – easily digestible, with natural vegetables – add potato or rice as desired
• ... and many more types as desired!

📌 Important ratio: Approx. 50% meat : 50% side dish – the mixture must be firm and spreadable, not liquid. If the can already contains vegetables or potato, you can reduce or omit the side dish accordingly.

⚠️ Always use cooked potatoes! Raw potatoes contain solanine and are unsuitable for dogs.

Preparation:

1. Mix filling well (or use directly from the can)
2. Stand horns upright – opening upwards – and fill firmly
3. Tie several horns together with heat-resistant stainless steel wire and place upright on a baking sheet or in an oven-safe pot
4. Bake at 100–120 °C for approx. 30 minutes – filling will firm up, liquid gently evaporates
5. Allow to cool completely before feeding!

Feeding recommendation

Initially, put a small amount of turtle sticks into the water and observe how much the animals eat within 5–10 minutes. Feed only as much as is completely consumed within this time.

⚠️ Important: Excess food remaining in the water decomposes and can negatively affect water parameters – this particularly promotes algae growth and can significantly worsen water quality. Therefore, remove uneaten food promptly.

💡 Tip: It's better to feed a little less and add more if needed – turtles and fish are healthier if they are not overfed.
