BARF for Beginners – How to Easily Start with Raw Feeding

Raw feeding sounds complicated – but it's not! With the right products from Kallisbest, you can get started easily. We'll show you how.

🥩 What is BARF?

BARF stands for Biologically Appropriate Raw Food. The principle: Your dog or cat gets raw meat, offal, and natural supplements – just as nature intended. No grains, no artificial additives, no hidden by-products.

💡 The Easiest Start: The Tolle Rolle

You want to BARF but don't have time for preparation? The Kallisbest Tolle Rolle is the perfect solution! Thanks to gentle low-heat processing, it remains very close to raw food – vitamins, enzymes, and nutrients are optimally preserved.

🌿 Step by Step to BARFing

1. Choose & Alternate Meat Types

Start with one meat type and alternate regularly. Different types provide different nutrients – beef, chicken, duck, lamb, horse, turkey & more.

2. Add Vital Plus Daily

Kallisbest Vital Plus is 100% natural and provides all the essential vitamins, minerals, and trace elements that should be supplemented when BARFing.

3. Add Salmon Oil or Flaxseed Oil

A daily shot of salmon oil or flaxseed oil provides valuable omega-3 fatty acids for shiny fur, healthy joints, and a strong immune system.

4. Soak & Mix Vegetable Flakes

Simply soak vegetable flakes in a little water and mix them with the raw portion. Done!

5. Combine Instead of Stressing

You don't have to BARF 100% every day. A combination of raw feeding, wet food, and dry food is perfectly fine – and often even better than monotonous feeding!

📊 How Much Should I Feed?

As a rule of thumb: 2-3% of body weight per day as a raw portion. A 10 kg dog would therefore receive approx. 200-300g per day – divided into 1-2 meals.
